If you are studying Mandarin Chinese, our monthly series of E-books offers a comprehensive learning resource for you. The collection features levels tailored to different proficiency levels, including Beginner, Elementary, and Intermediate. An Advanced level is also set to be released in the next six months, accommodating learners with more advanced language skills.

The content of our E-books is meticulously curated to align with standardized language proficiency levels. Texts in Simplified Chinese are selected based on the criteria of New HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) and YCT (Youth Chinese Test) levels in Mainland China. The Beginner level corresponds to New YCT level 2&3, Elementary level to New HSK level 3, and Intermediate level to New HSK level 4.

For the Traditional Chinese version, the vocabulary is chosen according to the TOP (Test of Proficiency-Huayu) standard in Taiwan. The Elementary level aligns with TOP elementary level requirements, while the Intermediate level suits those at the TOP intermediate level.

The Beginner E-books consist of 5 stories, with each story containing 150~200 Chinese characters. The Elementary E-books comprise 12 stories, each containing 250~300 Chinese characters. Similarly, the Intermediate E-books offer 12 stories with 450~500 Chinese characters per story.

Key features of our Chinese learning E-books include:

  1. Interactive functionalities where clicking on colored words reveals English definitions, pinyin, part of speech information, sample sentences, and the word's corresponding HSK/TOP level.
  2. Expanded meanings for individual words can be accessed by clicking on "More." This functionality provides a deeper understanding of vocabulary nuances.
  3. Ability to save unfamiliar words for later review and memorization purposes.
  4. Hyperlinks embedded in proper nouns lead to additional insights into Chinese geography, culture, and history alongside the main storyline.
  5. Each story is accompanied by complete English translations and pinyin support for language learners.
  6. Progress monitoring through interactive quizzes after reading each article assesses comprehension levels and keeps a record of initial quiz results.
  7. An audio version of each story enables practice in listening skills by providing clear narration in standard Chinese.
